About John Young

John is a life long Mets fan. Thank god for that, because baseball is the only sport were he can't seem to stop watching. His first game attended was in 1985, where the Mets catcher, Gary Carter, caught his eye and would become his all time favorite Mets player. John attended his first Mets Playoff game in 2006 (game six) and the crowd was going so much, causing Shea to shake, he thought the stadium was going to collapse.

John joined the Marines in September of 2000 and got out April of 2005, all the wile longing for a home game at Shea (he didn't attend one in his time in the Marines). In his time in the Marines he has been to more countries than not, as well as been to Iraq twice. The first of the tours was in October of 2003, where he was in Al Mosul. This is the Northern most part of Iraq, where his unit captured the air base and former base of the Bath Party.

In his second tour in June of 2004, his unit went to Aditha and Fallujah. John's unit captured the city of Fallujah.

In June of 2005, John moved back to Long Island, New York where he currently resides in Smithtown. He now woks for North Fork Bank and enjoys tirelessly slaving over his computer bringing you all things Mets in his off time.
