Achilles update

Christian Red & Roger Rubin at The NY Daily News gives an update on Cliff Floyd and his Achilles tendon :

Left fielder Cliff Floyd was at Shea yesterday afternoon to get treatment on his aching left Achilles tendon. Floyd had to remove himself from Saturday's game after the top of the first inning, and Willie Randolph sat him for Sunday's 8-1 victory over the Phillies.

Floyd's Achilles has been sore for much of the season. He hasn't discussed it because he's been trying to play through it and never wanted to make excuses for his performance (.245, 10 homers, 36 RBI).

"I don't think it's been bad enough to keep me from playing until now," Floyd said Sunday. "I'd like to think a couple days of treatment is all it will take."
