Guerra shows his stuff

Deolis Guerra fanned 11 while allowing one run in 5 2/3 innings for low Single-A Hagerstown on Sunday.

With Fernando Martinez moving up to Single-A St. Lucie, the Mets' other big international signing in 2005 now has the spotlight all to himself at Hagerstown. Guerra, a 17-year-old right-hander, is 5-6 with a 2.39 ERA, 57 H and 55/28 K/BB in 71 2/3 IP. If he adds velocity as expected, he could be one of the game's best pitching prospects within two years.
