Milledge action being reviewed
Adam Rubin at The NY Daily News writes about the incident involving Lastings Milledge and a Minor League Umpire:
Lastings Milledge, a lightning rod for controversy during a June stint in the majors that included high-fiving fans and arriving only 70 minutes before a game, returns to the big leagues today with new trouble following him. Milledge was ejected from Triple-A Norfolk's game Sunday for an over-the-top protest of a called third strike by plate umpire Mike Estabrook. The International League has requested a tape of the incident to determine whether Milledge bumped the ump, who took three steps backward to regain his balance. Any suspension would not apply to the majors, an MLB spokesman said. With Xavier Nady traded to the Pirates, Milledge figures to stay in the majors and see significant time in the Mets outfield. Milledge hit 233 with three homers and 12 RBI in 86 at-bats during a one-month call-up with Cliff Floyd and Nady hurt.
