Pedro Martinez earned a win over the Padres on last night after limiting the club to two runs in 7 1/3 innings of work.

Martinez walked four and gave up a pair of homers, but both were solo shots and he only yielded three hits in total. The right-hander left with a 4-2 lead and a pair of runners on base in the eighth, but reliever Aaron Heilman retired the next two hitters to end the rally. Just 15 more strikeouts will give Martinez 3,000 for his career.
