El Duque pitches pen session
Matthew Cerrone at Metsblog, writes about the plans for Orlando Hernandez:
Orlando Hernandez pitched a bullpen session for roughly 15 minutes prior to last night’s win over the Cardinals…
Following the session, he told reporters that he feels confident he will be able to pitch in the World Series, assuming the the Mets get there…
…the early buzz from shea points to el duque eventually being used as a reliever, not a starter, since he has less pain throwing from the stretch and may not be able to work more than 75 pitches…of course, he could do this from the start of the game, as well, so i don’t take this statement to mean very much…
