Floyd and Martinez

At Rotoworld, they give updates on Cliff Floyd and Pedro Martinez:

Floyd:

Coming off Achilles' surgery, Cliff Floyd filed for free agency Saturday.

Floyd had successful surgery this week to repair his strained left Achilles' tendon and will face a four-month recovery period. He's expressed interest in re-signing with the Mets, but he belongs in the AL at this point in his career.

Martinez:

Pedro Martinez is ahead of schedule in his rehab from rotator cuff surgery, and could return to action before the All-Star break next season.

During the operation, the surgeons used an innovative technique in which they reattached portions of his shoulder so he would not lose flexibility, allowing him to retain full range of motion once his recovery is complete. His velocity could also improve. Of course, he still has a very long road ahead.
