Matsuzaka winner may be revealed today

Jim Baumbach at Newsday, writes about the possibility of the winning bid for Daisuke Matsuzaka:

As per the posting rules agreed upon by Major League Baseball and its Japanese counterpart, the Lions are aware of the amount of the bid but not the team's identity.

The winning bid is expected to be eight figures, but it might not reach as high as the $20 million to $30 million that once was expected. The winning team will have a 30-day window to negotiate with Matsuzaka's agent, Scott Boras, who is looking for a contract worthy of a frontline pitcher.
