Mets sign 5 MiLB players

On the Mets Press Release, they talk about the Mets signing five Minor League players:

Nageotte, 6-3, 225 pounds, was 7-7 with a 5.74 ERA in 19 starts for the Seattle Mariners' Tacoma (AAA) farm team of the Pacific Coast League last year. In 89.1 innings, he allowed 102 hits, 63 runs, 57 earned, with 53 walks and 51 strikeouts. In addition, the 26-year-old pitched in two games with Seattle's rookie-level club in the Arizona League. Clint also appeared in one game with the Mariners in 2006. Nageotte is 1-6 with a 7.78 ERA in 16 major league games, five starts, with Seattle.

Vasquez, 6-1, 175 pounds and 28 years old, was 3-3 with five saves and a 2.08 ERA in 47 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates' Altoona (AA) team of the Eastern League. He permitted 45 hits in 65.0 innings with 29 walks and 89 strikeouts. Jorge appeared in two games with Kansas City in 2004 and was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in seven games with the Atlanta Braves in 2005.

Urdaneta, 27, spent most of the season recovering from "Tommy John" surgery on his right elbow which occurred in September, 2005. He began pitching for the Mets' Gulf Coast (R) League team in August and had a 0-0 record and a 1.29 ERA in six games. The 6-1, 170-pounder was also 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA in five games for New York's Binghamton (AA) team of the Eastern League. Urdaneta was acquired by the Mets from Cancun of the Mexico League on June 29, 2005. He pitched one game for the Detroit Tigers in 2005.

Collazo, 5-9, 175 pounds and 27 years old, split the year between Binghamton (AA) and Norfolk (AAA) of the International League. He was 7-6 with a 3.11 ERA in 18 starts for Binghamton and 3-3 with a 4.79 ERA in seven games, five starts for the Tides. Last March, Collazo represented Puerto Rico at the World Baseball Classic.

Ambres, 27, had his season limited to 56 games last year for Kansas City's Omaha (AAA) team of the Pacific Coast League. On June 20th, the 6-1, 200-pounder underwent surgery to remove a lose body from his left shoulder. He hit .203 (38-187) with eight doubles, a triple, three home runs and 15 RBI. In 2005, Chip batted .241 (35-145) with eight doubles, four home runs and nine RBI in 53 games with Kansas City.
