Minaya the deal maker

John Delcos at LoHud, writes about Omar Minaya and how the signings he has made since he's been with the Mets are like shopping in the bargain bin of MLB players:

When you look at some of the deals already in the offseason, one has to give GM Omar Minaya kudos for taking the initiative this summer with the extensions for David Wright or Jose Reyes.

If Julio Lugo is worth $36 million over four years, then what is Reyes worth? Certainly more than the $23.25 million he signed for. And Wright's $55 million is also a bargain - compared to JD Drew!?!

And, now the Carlos Beltran deal seems like a bargain.
