Valentin named starting second baseman

Adam Rubin at the NY Daily News, writes about Omar Minaya and Jose Valentin:

After coming up short in his pursuit of Julio Lugo at second base, Minaya indicated he's satisfied with Jose Valentin as his starter and won't continue to pursue other players to man the position.

Well I guess it's time to see if Valentin can rebound from a horrible post season and keep the production level up. I have a feeling that if Valentin starts to show signs of 2005, we may be seeing Anderson Hernandez at second.
