Glavine Getting Ready For Opening Day

Adam Rubin ath the NY Daily News, writes about Tom Glavine and how he's getting ready for his opening day start:

Still 38 days from the April 1 opener in St. Louis, the Mets have already placed Tom Glavine on a throwing program to ready him for that assignment.

Glavine will make his eighth career Opening Day start, and fourth in five years as a Met.

He will be on an every-five-day pitching schedule once Grapefruit League games begin next week - with his final spring start tentatively planned for March 26 against the Dodgers. The 290-game winner is expected to get an extra day of rest before facing the world champion Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
