Matt Cerrone at Metsblog is reporting that Ruben Gotay has cleared waivers and will remain with the club.

Mets 2B Ruben Gotay cleared waivers and has been assigned to the team’s Triple-A affiliate in New Orleans.

Gotay was acquired last summer in exchange for 2B Jeff Keppinger, who was recently designated for assignment by the Royals and then traded to the Reds.

Last season, Gotay hit .266 in 42 games for Triple-A Norfolk.
