What Would It Take?

Ed Ryan over at the Gotham Baseball Message Forum(also of Mets Fever, part of the Shea Nation Network), asks one simple question that may be hhard to answer. What would it take to have Tom Glavine in the Hall of Fame as a Met?:

What would it take for Glavine to go into the HOF in a Mets hat.

His 300th win will come with us...

What if he won a ring, 20 games and a cy young this year would that be enough. I think Glavine is going to have a huge year and the above may not be out of the question. He is a huge competitor and is driving towards 300, once he gets it he may not stop.

Glavine is a true gentleman and it would be an honor for him to represent the Mets in the HOF.

Is his career in Atlanta too much to over come or if he stands on his head this year could he be ours....

It would take a stem cell transplant from Julio Franco for endurance and another ten years of pitching, 200 more wins and 4 or 5 no-hitters.

Realistically, there's NO shot that he enters the Hall in a Mets uniform. He spent 80% of his career as a Brave, won a Series with them, and will likely be in a similar position as Gary Carter was. We can finally appreciate Glavine's contributions in a Mets' uniform, and for that I'm grateful- I'm okay with him going into the Hall as a Brave. But I LOVE the idea of 20 wins and a series!!!!
