Wright On The Fan

Matthew Cerrone at Mets Blog, writes about David Wright and his interview on the FAN:

Mets 3B David Wright appeared on WFAN’s Mike and the Mad Dod yesterday, and talked about a variety of issues, including many details on his trip to the White House during this past off season.

To listen to this entire interview, check out WFAN.com, where segments are also available as podcasts.

According to Wright, he does not feel his poor performance in last year’s NLCS should be credited to nerves or pressure. In his view, the Cardinals pitched him well, and he got cold at the wrong time, “no excuses,” though he can’t wait to get back and do better.

His goal this season, personally, is to be more consistent, while making quicker adjustments to his game.

Lastly, he does not feel like an established star in New York, much to the chagrin of the show’s hosts, because he has so much more to prove, such as driving runs in during clutch moments, being consistent, and continuing to improve on defense.
