A Look At Today's Starters

Tonight (If the rain stops) the five and three Mets take on the two and six Phillies in the rubber match of the series. Here are your probable Pitchers for tonight:

Tom Glavine (1-1 2.38)

Glavine takes his second shot at getting career victory No. 292 in his 2007 home debut. Glavine dropped a 5-3 decision in his last start, Saturday at Turner Field. He went 5 1/3 innings, allowing all five runs (only two were earned), and four hits, while pitching through frigid, windy conditions. He was 2-1 with a 4.62 ERA in four starts against Philadelphia last season, and he is 26-17 with a 3.82 ERA lifetime against the Phils.

Jamie Moyer (1-0 2.70)

Moyer is coming off a successful season debut against the Marlins, in which he allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings as the Phillies prevailed, 8-2. The 44-year-old left-hander used his guile as much as his array of pitches, because he said he didn't feel particularly sharp. In facing the Mets, he'll likely need to be sharper. He's scheduled to face another aging and crafty lefty in Tom Glavine. The starting pitchers' combined age is 85.
