No Young Players For Mets?
Matthew Cerrone at Mets Blog, writes about a comment in the Sun-Sentinel:
In a column for the Sun-Sentinel, Craig Barnes speaks with Marlins RHP Henry Owens and Matt Lindstrom, both of whom were acquired this off-season from the Mets, in exchange for LHP Jason Vargas and Adam Bostick.
Lindstrom, as quoted by Barnes…“It is no secret what the Marlins do with young players. If you work hard and show them you can do it at the major league level, they give you a chance. With the Mets, you would go to spring training and know that it didn't matter how you pitched because you weren't moving up.”
...sure, you know, because broken-down veterans, such as Jose Reyes, David Wright, Aaron Heilman, Ambiorix Burgos, Joe Smith, John Maine, Mike Pelfrey and Lastings Milledge, always get an unfair chance over the organization's youngest players, like, i guess, the bat boy and delgado’s new born son...
