A Look At Today's Game: Maine Event

Their trip to the Pacific time zone already a success, the new-look Mets engage the Giants again Wednesday afternoon before returning home to show their new haircuts to their wives and girlfriends.

John Maine, their best pitcher thus far this season, is to start against a team he has never faced. Bengie Molina is the lone player on the Giants roster who has faced Maine, who has a 5-0 record and the lowest ERA in the National League at 1.37.

Maine, playing in the afternoon, can become the first six-game winner in the league since Dontrelle Willis (5-1) pitches later that night in Miami.
