Mets Scout A Potential Prospect

Matt Rice at The Harwich Oracle, writes about the Mets and them scouting out Harwich pitcher James Hamilton:

James Hamilton will travel to New York on Saturday for a look over by the N.Y. Mets in what could be a prelude of the Harwich senior being drafted in June.

“They’ve said they want to take him somewhere around the 12th round (of June’s amateur draft). This is a dream come true for him and his family so I don’t blame him for having his mind on it,” Thacher said.

Coming off a state championship run in his junior year and a Super Bowl berth during his senior campaign in football last Fall, setting new team records for rushing yards and touchdowns in the process, Hamilton has continued his dominance on the mound this Spring, leading the South Shore League with a .41 ERA and an eye-popping 60 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched. But even before his try-out, the Mets have already expressed their desire for Hamilton to become a Met.
