Randolph On Gomez's Playing Time

Aditi Kinkhabwala at North Jersey, writes about Willie Randolph and what he had to say regarding Carlos Gomez's playing time:

What he didn't have was a spot in the lineup -- or his manager's promise that he would anytime soon.

"When young kids come up, there's a lot of adrenaline and a lot of energy going. Sometimes pitchers take them for granted," Randolph said, not wanting to put too much stock in Gomez's Day One showing.

"If there's a lefty we can run him against, he might get a chance to play. ... We'll just use him as a backup right now."
