Willie On Wright

Matthew Cerrone at Mets Blog, writes about Willie Randolph's comments about David Wright's break out from his slump:

Willie Randolph, talking with reporters about Wright, after last night’s win over the Cubs…

“It was just a matter of time. It’s not surprising. He’s been swinging the bat well for a while, actually. So, it’s just a matter of time…He’s getting on the ball better. It’s really about getting good pitches to hit.

“If you guys watch the game - and I’ve been saying this all along – it’s as as simple as getting good strikes. You see the balls he’s attacking, what zone their in, and that’s what I see. It kind of plays on what I said to you guys three weeks ago, that good hitters get good pitches to hit. If you’re over-anxious and you’re going our of your zone, and you try to do to much you make things tough for yourself. What I see is that he’s getting good pitches to hit now and when he does he’s taking advantage of it.”
