The Best Option For Left Field

Ted Berg at SNY, writes about Lastings Milledge and how he's the Mets best option for left field:

Omar Minaya told me that Lastings Milledge should be running in his rehab program in Florida by today or tomorrow and would be resuming baseball activity soon after. I've been unable to get any more firm evidence that Milledge is back on his broken foot and anywhere close to playing again. It'd be great if he was, though, because with Alou and Chavez out, Johnson struggling, Ledee middling and Carlos Gomez clearly not ready for everyday big-league duty, Lasto is certainly the Mets' best option to start in left field until Alou returns.
