Game Recap:: Mets 3 -- Tigers 0

It's about time we won, and speaking of time, that only lasted 2 hours and 14 minutes!!!!

The Mets rode another amazing start from Jorge Sosa, who went 8 innings, shutting out the best offense in baseball. Sosa only allowed only 6 hits, with 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5. Chad Durbin nearly matched Sosa, also went 8 innings, allowing 6 hits, 2 of them going for solo home runs.

...has Sosa really been the Mets best pitcher this year?? I want to hear your thoughts in the comments, because he has been so good, but i can't make up my mind!!...

Billy Wagner bounced back in a big way, going 1-2-3 to pick up the save. Wagner struck out 2 in his inning!

...nice Waggy, very nice...

David Wright and Carlos Delgado each smacked solo home runs to right field!!

...wow!!! go #4 and #5 in the order!!...

Carlos Gomez bunted for a single in the 9th, went 1st to 3rd on a shallow single, and then scored on a short sacrafice fly to center.

...speed kills...

The Mets also made 3 AMAZIN' defensive plays, two of them coming from Gomez. David Wright made a beautiful barehand play and throw on a slow roller near the pitchers mound. Gomez made a nice running jump and caught and would be triple against Curtis Granderson. Gomez also made a beautiful diving grab on a Pudge Rodriguez hit.

Game Ball:: Jorge Sosa!!

El Duque was on the DL for like a month. Sosa has given the mets the most concistant quality starts out of every pitcher on the mets rotation. vote for sosa
