Game Recap:: Mets 8 -- Twins 1

Good win, but start preparing for Johan tomorrow!!

The Mets rode 7 and 1/3 great innings from John Maine, who allowed only 4 hits and 2 walks to beat the Twins by a score of 8-1. Maine struck out 4 batters, and the run scored while Pedro Feliciano was finishing out the 8th inning for Maine. Feliciano allowed a bloop double, and struck out one in 2/3 of an inning.

...great outing by Maine, just great stuff tonight...

Aaron Heilman came in for the 9th to finish things out and retired the Twins 1-2-3.

The Mets offense picked up 15 hits tonight! Every
starter but Maine had a hit!

...just thought i'd point that out...

The hot bat tonight was someone you would not expect, Ricky Ledee. Ledee went 2-3, with a walk, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored and a home run.

...nice hitting in a spot start after being called up! Ledee comes through in the strangest times...

David Wright went 3-5 at the plate, picking up 2 doubles and 1 RBI.
Shawn Green picked up 2 hits, he also scored one run.
Paul Lo Duca went 2-4 with a 2 run single in the 6th
inning.

...way to bounce back after getting pegged in the elbow last night...

Carlos Delgado went 2-4 with a home run to deep left field tonight.
Carlos Beltran went 1-5, with a RBI double in the 8th, and later scored on a Carlos Gomez sac-fly.

...maybe this will kick start Los Carloses (is that how you spell it?? haha), but who knows...

Game Ball:: John Maine and the entire Mets offense (for once!)
