Game Recap:: Yankees 11 -- Mets 8

Plain and simple, too many guys were left on base...

The Yankees smacked around the Mets to the tune of 11-8. Tom Glavine got rocked, only lasting 4 innings, allowing 7 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks. Glavine did not strike out anyone while on the bump.

...that was not pretty...

Scott Schoeneweis gave up 2 hits and one run in the 5th inning. Guillermo Mota threw two innings, giving up 2 earned runs. Mota allowed 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2 as well. Aaron Sele allowed one run to score in the bottom of the 8th inning.

...awful performance by all the pitchers today...

Jose Reyes walked twice and scored two runs, also driving in a run on a sacrafice fly.
David Wright went 1-5, extending his hitting streak to 17 games, and picked up an RBI in the first inning.

...keep it going Wright...

Carlos Delgado went 2-5, and scored a run.
Paul Lo Duca went 3-5 on the day.
Ramon Castro wnet 2-5, knocking a 2-run home run in the 4th inning.

...Raaaaaa-monnnn!...

Ruben Gotay went 2-3, scoring 2 runs, knocking in an RBI, and walking twice today.

...see Willie, he can hit!...

Carlos Gomez went 3-5, driving in a run, as he makes his case to stick around much, much longer.

...well done, Gomez...

UGH! Carlos Beltran just swung at the first pitch with the bases loaded and a chance to take the lead, and pops it up in foul territory to end the game. I have a problem with this, as Jose Reyes battled and battled for a great at bat before singling up the middle, and then Beltran comes up and swings at the first pitch.

...ughhhhhhh, Beltran!!!...

Game Ball:: Uh...a few guys did a lot, Ramon Castro, Carlos Gomez, Ruben Gotay, and Jose Reyes all deserve mention for todays game.
