Would Church Fit?

From Ed Ryan at Mets Fever (network Member):

We've all heard the names coming out of the Washington that maybe available before the trade deadline, but one that slipped past me was Ryan Church. Bowden always asks for too much, if he isn't happy with the trade he'll walk and get the draft picks at the end of the year, which is what he did with Soriano. Maybe with Manny Acta coaching the team Bowden will feel like he has an inside scout on Mets prospect players. Back to Church, the 29 y/o is a lefty which maybe a deterrent his career batting average is .267 in four seasons.

The Nationals' inventory of movable parts is well-known throughout baseball. For the right price, a contending team could have relievers Jon Rauch or Chad Cordero, outfielder Ryan Church or first baseman Dmitri Young. source Washington Post

It's just hard to gague if the Mets need another outfielder right now with alou still out and milledge hitting the way he has been.
