Game Recap:: Mets 5 -- Dodgers 2

MVP! MVP! WRIGHT FOR MVP!...

David Wright knocked in 2 RBI, made some excellent defensive plays, and Oliver Perez pitched 7 scoreless to lead the Mets to 5-2 win over the Dodgers.

Oliver Perez went 7 scoreless innings only allowing 3 hits and striking out 6. Perez was still a bit wild, walking 5 batters.

...great performance from Olli...
...awesome to see a outing like this from him...

Jorge Sosa only pitched 1/3 of an inning, giving up 2 hits and a walk, and one earned run.

...what happened to the lights out??...

Pedro Feliciano finished out the 8th inning, without allowing a runner to reach.
Billy Wagner continued to struggle, allowing 3 hits and 1 run to score in the 9th inning. Wagner did strike out the last batter on a great series of pitches, but seemed to leave his slider hanging over the plate.

...whew...

Jose Reyes went 1-4 tonight with a walk, and scored two runs. He also stole his 69th base of the season.

...don't stop running...

Ruben Gotay played for the sore Castillo, and went 2-3 with an RBI.
Mike DiFeilice went 3-3 on the night with a sacrafice bunt.

David Wright went 2-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. David powered an opposite field home run that just cleared the right field wall.

...he goes to the opposite field SO well...

Wright made two great plays in the field, one on a ball that Oliver Perez tipped and another on a diving stab. Perez jumped and tipped a ball to the left of the charging Wright, who had to change direction, bare hand the ball, and fling it over to first. The same inning, Wright dove to his left and made a diving grab and throw to Delgado at first.

Game Ball:: Ollie and Wright
