Game Recap:: Mets 7 -- Braves 1

What a bounce back game...

John Maine, how I love thee. Maine went 7 amazin' innings, only allowing 3 measley hits to the Braves. The Mets rode Maine's performance and Delgado and Anderson's bat to a 7-1 win over Atlanta.

Maine allowed just 3 hits and 3 walks in 7, while striking out 8 batters. He allowed one earned run to cross the plate on a wild pitch with the bases loaded. Maine had the bases loaded with no one out, and got out of it with only that one run while getting outs from Larry Jones and Mark Texieria. This was Maines 14th win.

...when we needed a strong start, he delivered...
...well done Johnny, well done!...

Aaron Heilman and Scott Schoeneweis finished out the game for the Mets, only allowing one hit between them. Schoe allowed the hit, and struck out one batter.

...nice to see the bullpen retire batters...

Jose Reyes went 2-5, driving in one and scoring once, both on his solo home run to right field in the 5th inning. Reyes also picked up his 73rd stolen base.

...c'mon Reyes...get hot!!!...

Carlos Beltran went 2-4, scoring once. While Moises Alou went 1-4, also scoring one time. They both scored on a Carlos Delgado home run.

Delgado went 2-4 tonight, with a double and a 3-run home run. Delgy drove in 3 RBI's and scored twice.

...he CRUSHED that ball to center...could he be turning it on late in the season??...

Marlon Anderson broke the game open in the top of the 9th inning. With the bases loaded in the top of the 9th, Marlon Anderson came in to pinch hit. He ripped the first pitch he saw to right center, which plated all 3 runs.

...he has been the spark as of late...his bat is just too hot...keep it up Marlon!!...

Game Balls:: Maine, Delgado, and Anderson!!!
