Game Recap:: Mets 8 -- Brewers 5

The 3-run home run was a prominent theme in tonights game...

Prince Fielder greeted Oliver Perez rudely, with a 3-run homer in the first inning. Oliver then gave up 2 more runs in the second inning but settled down and shut them out from there on in. Perez pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 earned runs as the Mets beat the Brewers 8-5. Perez walked 3 and amazingly struck out 11 batters.

...11! wowie! he started off poorly, and fooled around when he added a pause into his delivery, but was dominant through innings 3-6...

Guillermo Mota pitched awesomely tonight, bouncing back from last nights shaky stint, pitching 2 innings of no hit ball, and struck out 2.

...well done by Mota...

Billy Wagner, the walking heart attack, allowed 2 hits, brining the tying run to the plate, but closed out the game for the Mets and Oliver Perez.

...it's never easy for Wags, but he always pulls it out...

Marlon Anderson, in a rare center field start, went 2-4 scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 RBI. Three of them came on a 3 run home run in the top of the third inning.

...Willie should be praised for playing him in center tonight, after catching some flak for starting him and not Lastings Milledge tonight...

Ramon Castro added his own 3-run homer, in the second inning, which drove home Moises Alou and Marlon Anderson.

...the big man is breaking out!!...
...do the Mets keep Castro as the starter instead of resigning Lo Duca next year???...

Game Ball:: Olli, even with the runs, Anderson, and Castro!
