Game Recap:: Mets 8 -- Cubs 3

And there it is...Congratulations Tom Glavine, #300!!...

Tom Glavine, on his second attempt, picked up one of the great milestones in MLB history, securing his 300th win as a pitcher. Glavine pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits. Glav walked only 1 and struck out 1 batter as the Mets cruised to a 8-3 victory over the Cubs.

...what a wonderful night for Tommmy and his family, and the entire Mets team...

Guillermo Mota, Pedro Feliciano, and Aaron Heilman combined to finish out the 7th inning for Tommy. Mota gave up one run, without recording an out, but Feliciano and Heilman each recorded an out.

...you could tell the guys wanted to get it for Tom...

Jorge Sosa, shining in relief again, throwing a scoreless inning and walking one.
Billy Wagner finished out the game, alloweing one hit and striking out one to finish out the game for Tom and the Mets.

...again, Congrats to Tommy...

Glavine also got it done at the plate tonight, going 1-2, walking once and driving in a run in the first inning.

...he could do it all!!!...

Luis Castillo broke out in a big way tonight, going 4-5 and scoring 2 runs.

...very, VERY good to see him starting to hit...

Lastings Milledge went 3-4, with a walk and scored 2 runs.

...Lastings is making the most of his time in the field...

Carlos Delgado also had a big night, going 2-4 and drove in 4 RBI!

...c'mon Delgy, get HOT!...
