Game Recap:: Mets 8 -- Nationals 2

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!...

ANOTHER stellar start for old man Orlando Hernandez! This is the best I've seen him pitch as a Met, and even in most recent memory on any team. El Duque went 7 amazing innings only giving up 3 hits and 2 earned runs. The Mets picked up the sweep of the Nationals, by a score of 8-2. Hernandez walked 4 batters, and struck out 4, giving up one home run to Willy Mo Pena.

...wow...
...he is in the zone as of late, and i hope he stays there!...

Jorge Sosa came in for the 8th, pitching a perfect inning of relief.
Pedro Feliciano pitched the 9th inning, allowing a batter to reach base on a walk, but struck out two.

...great performance from these two...Sosa has been so great out of the pen...

Luis Castillo and David Wright each crossed the plate twice today, with Castillo going 1-4 with a walk and Wright going 2-4 with a walk.

Carlos Beltran, Shawn Green, and Marlon Anderson each tore up the Nationals pitchers today.
Shawn Green went 2-5, knocking a two run single to put the Mets ahead in the 8th inning, and also scoring later in the inning.

...he's been hitting well...maybe this will quiet down the Shawn Green haters...

Marlon Anderson broke the game open in the 8th with a two run double to deep right field, as he went 3-4 on the day.

...what a pickup for the Mets...been so solid off the bench and in spot starts...

Carlos Beltran had the biggest day, as he went 2-3 with two home runs. He scored 3 times and brought in 4 RBI's!

...since Alou and Beltran got back, the offense is nearly unstoppable!...
...please, no one else get hurt...
