Game Recap:: Phillies 9 -- Mets 2

What an absolutely awful game...

In one of the most boring games for Mets fans this year, the Phillies routed the Mets by a score of 9-1. Brian Lawrence only laster 4 and 2/3 of an inning, giving up 10 hits and 5 earned runs. Lawrence only struck out one batter, while walking one as well. Lawrence gave up 2 home runs, one to Pat Burrell and the other to Chase Utley.

...ooof...it hurt bad, and what made it worse was that Utley is back and looking good (3-5, 2 RBI)...

Jorge Sosa went 1.1, giving up 2 hits and allowing one earned run to score. Sosa walked 2 and struck out 2.

...no one looked on their A game tonight...

Scott Schoeneweis returned back to the man we know, throwing one inning and giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits.

...we need Pedro to call up Rick Peterson and tell him what is wrong with Schoe's delivery...badly...

Aaron Sele, the forgotten man, pitched one inning, giving up only 1 hit.

Paul Lo Duca returned to the lineup tonight, and went 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

...nice to have you back Paulie!...

Brian Lawrence picked up the other RBI, smoking a ball to third base which Greg Dobbs couldn't handle, that allowed Lo Duca to score.

On a down note, Carlos Delgado went 1-4 with 3 strikeouts.

...yikes...
