Ambiorix Burgos underwent Tommy John surgery Tuesday and will miss most or all of 2008.

Burgos for Brian Bannister hasn't worked out for the Mets so far. Burgos still projects as a quality late-inning reliever for the Mets, but it won't happen until 2009 at the earliest.
