Game Recap:: Mets 11 -- Reds 7

High FIVE!!!...

The Mets picked up their 5th straight win for the first time all season, with a 11-7 win over Cincy to take the series, and set up for a sweep tomorrow afternoon.

Oliver Perez earned another win, but did not pitch all that well. Perez allowed 5 runs, 3 of them earned, on 4 hits and 5 walks through 5 innings. Perez only struck out 2 batters while on the bump.

...not a good outing at all...
...he barely got through 5 innings of work...

Guillermo Mota pitched an inning of scoreless baseball, allowing one hit while striking out one.
Pedro Feliciano was the victim of soft hitting and balls finding the hole, and allowed 3 hits and 1 earned run to score. Feliciano also walked one.

...a bump in the road back to his A game...

Aaron Heilman pitched a hitless 8th inning, striking out 2 batters.
Scott Schoeneweis gave up a home run, and benefited from a nice diving play by Shawn Green at first and a lunging play by David Wright to get out of the inning with only that one hit.

...the bullpen did what they needed to do, and it wasn't much due to the massive amounts of offense...

Ruben Gotay went 1-2 with a run scored, and he walked 3 times tonight.
Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado continue to rip up opposing pitchers. Beltran went 1-4 with a walk, but smashed a 2-run home run to deep center field. Delgado went 3-5, scoring twice.

...getting hot down the stretch...perfect...

Moises Alou continues hit hitting streak, bringing it to 11 games with a 2-4 night, scoring once.
Shawn Green contined to hit very, very well, going 3-5 with 2 RBI's. Green also scored 3 times.

...keep playing him!!...

But tonight belonged to Paul Lo Duca, who went 3-5, scoring twice. Paul hit TWO 3-run home runs tonight, en route to his 7 RBI performance!!

...just amazing from Paulie...
...let's hope this gets Lo Duca back into the swing of things!...
