Mets Call Up Minor League Closer

Adam Rubin at Surfing The Mets writes about Carlos Muniz getting called updue to Wagner's back:

With Billy Wagner's back barking, the bullpen in disarray and the season on the verge of collapsing, the Mets will call up minor-league closer Carlos Muniz tonight, according to person familiar with the decision.

Muniz, 26, played collegiately at Long Beach State. He was 2-4 with a 2.45 ERA and 23 saves in 44 games at Double-A Binghamton, then moved to Triple-A on Aug. 29. He had been slated to represent the Mets in the Arizona Fall League.
