A Quick Thought...To Aid Willie...

Jim Tracy, fired recently by the Pittsburgh Pirates, would make an excellent bench coach for Willie this season. Tracy had a great run with the Dodgers, and his dismissal still irks many in La-La Land. He wasn't as successful with the Bucs, but let's face it, who HAS been? He's a solid baseball man, knows strategy and how to handle pitchers, and would be another potential clubhouse stabilizer for a team that looked so lost the last month of the season. He probably won't get another managing job before the season, as his name probably won't come up until someone is looking for a mid-season replacement, at the earliest, and we'd be lucky to get him before this happens. At this point, since we are resolved that Willie is coming back, we now have to look to find him someone who he can more successfully lean on down the stretch, and who knows? Maybe Tracy can be that guy.

Yankee Rumor du jour: Guidry gets fired as pitching coach, to be replaced by Leo Mazzone, our old Braves' nemesis...wouldn't THAT be peachy!
