Will Lofton Commercial Be Changed To New York Again?
From ESPN's Jayson Stark: (click here)
Once the Santana trade is done, expect the Mets to swoop into the free-agent market to add an outfielder to replace Carlos Gomez. One name they've kicked around: Kenny Lofton.
Wow! Lofton might end up playing for every major league team, after all! He's still a free agent, with less than 2 weeks until pitchers and catchers report, is still in great shape, and has yet to be a Met- all perfect pieces to his resume! I wouldn't mind Lofton for a year, while Martinez gets more seasoning, as he's still fast and certainly knows about being on a championship team! Chavez and Lofton as OF back-ups - no power, lots of speed, interesting combo...time will tell...

wouldnt that be something
he would be a good bat off the bench
Don't do it, Omar! Lofton's bad luck!
Sure he's made the postseason a lot but have you guys seen what his teams have done there?
2002 Giants - Blew a late large lead in game 6 of the World Series.
2003 Cubs - Blew a 3-1 lead against the Marlins which included the 'Bartman Game'
2004 Yankees - Greatest post season choke job ever!
2007 Indians - Blew a 3-1 lead against the Red Sox which included a terrible baserunning mistake by him in game 7.
