Is Jay's Johnson of Interest to Mets?

According to the NYPost's Joel Sherman, in his 3-Up/3-Down blog, the Mets have expressed interest in Blue Jays outfielder, Reed Johnson. Johnson, 31, battled injuries last season, but in 2006, he hit .319 in 134 games and 461 at-bats, with 12 homers and 49 RBI's. It was the most homers he's hit in a season, but his RBI total has reached 61, he bats right, and can play either left or right field. He would be a good platoon candidate with Ryan Church, and can also help fill in for Beltran if he doesn't come back from injury to begin the season (Johnson in left, Chavez/Pagan in center and Church in right).

Speaking of Pagan, funny enough, I was going through some Mets' momentos earlier tonite and found year 2000 baseball cards for Brooklyn Cyclones, including Mike Jacobs and, yes, Angel Pagan! Pretty cool!!! He had a great day again today- making it almost impossible for him not to make this team.
