You can't really blame David Wright for going too far off of second base.....as "Maz" put it , it was a secondary lead that a player takes after a ball is hit...it was not like he was just running toward second...and when a ball is that hard , there really isn't anything anyone can do ....it's a shame....a real shame that we could not play well this week...this may be the week we look back as what propels Atlanta upward to a point that we won't reach them, no matter how well we play from this point on...and the prospect of that happening is getting grimmer and grimmer by the moment ...........
Atlanta clearly had a great plan of attack against Santana. They did not wait for the deadly changeup. They swung at many first and second pitches and put the ball in play and against the right side of the infield (and to some point the left), that becomes a problem....Castillo is thinking about "Lord knows what" when he threw it home from his knees and I saw two or three more balls going by Delgado where he just waves his glove at the ball as it goes by (he never dives for a baseball)...That makes me nuts!!!!!........anywho....Colorado has not been playing well at all , so it is about time the Rockies break out of their slump and who better to do that against than the underacheiving, injured, beaten up, uninspired Mets with the manager who is under fire for everything he's said, but moreso for the terrible play of this club over the past year plus....we've got a great chance to pull one out here in Colorado...and by "one" I mean one win...sad, just sad...
What will Omar do?....Because his job his on the line here, too.......he took a chance with Pedro....He took a chance with Moises (this experiment has to be over by the way)....now how about getting a couple of guys to take over for these old (oft) injured players and maybe we can start winning some games?! I don't know who the pitcher will be because Oswalt (who will be gone by the end of July) will be a Yankee from what I am reading. Who do you trade now ?......Who do you trade for now?.........

But I DO blame David Wright- he can't one day go off on his teammates and then the next be excused for making bone-headed play...
