John Delcos at The Lo Hud Mets Blog writes about Pedro Martinez heading home to be with his father:
We won’t see Pedro Martinez today. He was in the Atlanta airport when he got a call saying his father had a setback.
So he’s flying now to the Dominican Republic. There’s no telling how long he’ll be there and subsequently when he’ll resume his pitching routine.
Editor's Note - From David: Pedro, we all wish you only the best as you fly to be at your father's side. There's nothing more important right now then for you to be with your family, for as long as that takes. We pray that he'll somehow return to health, and will leave it at that. I've been there, just a few months ago, and I know how hard it is for you right now. We'll be thinking about you, and our prayers go out to you, your dad, and all of your family.
