Keeping The Memories Alive
Those of us worrying about how we'll ever be able to keep the memories of Shea Stadium alive, fear no more! The New York Post reports on 3 upcoming DVD sets (one for Yankee Stadium) that will keep the two classic New York stadiums alive, at least on our TV sets:
"The New York Mets: Essential Games of Shea Stadium," a six-DVD set out Tuesday, features six notable Met games in their entirety, including Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, which the Mets won after Bill Buckner's infamous error. (Release date: June 3rd - $59.95)
The next week brings "Shea Goodbye: 45 Years of Amazin'," a comprehensive tribute to the Mets' longtime home. (Release date: June 10th - $24.95)

Yankee fans get their turn on July 1 with the release of the two-disc set, "Yankee Stadium: Baseball's Cathedral." (Release date: July 1st - $26.99)
So, for less than $100, Shea can live forever in your television set; for another 30 bucks (with tax), you can also look at some classic Yankees footage, which might remain more palpable if they continue to play as badly as they have so far, and we continue our (recent - as in 1 week) winning ways.

For anyone who purchased the 1986 Mets World Series boxed set, these 2 sets are a MUST addition to your collection! I'll review the box set over the weekend, after I've had a chance to view them a few times...at least...
