Praying for Church

A few moments ago, on the Dibble and Kennedy show on XM Radio (channel 175) they were discussing Ryan Church's injury, and they speculated that Church's season might indeed be finished. I'm not jumping to any conclusions, nor should you, but with injuries of this nature, specifically any neurological injury, caution has become the way of life, as it should be (well, except for sending your concussed outfielders across country.) If the migranes that he's been having are found to be an extension of the concussions, Church's treatment might necessitate a long stretch away from physical activity. He has suffered from migraines for a long time, according to Church, and the weather has gotten a lot more humid on the east coast, which exacerbates migraines as well.
Unfortunately, I had a major neurological problem last summer, and the doctor's wouldn't let me do any physical activity for more than 8 weeks, as certain positions caused vertigo (called, ironically enough, "positional vertigo") and there's no need to exascerbate the condition by extending oneself physically. I am praying for Church right now, as I know how frustrated he must be, and he's a father and husband, "professions" far more important than that of baseball player.

If he comes back at this point, even for a few games at the end of the season, we'll be a better team for it.

More importantly, we wish Ryan Church a speedy and complete recovery, and hope to see him HEALTHY in the blue and orange soon!

Moises Alou, by the way, is supposed to play in a few rehab games this week- and hopefully he'll be back by this weekend (how many times do we have to hear THAT?!)
