How other Mets fared

Adam Rubin at The NY Daily News talks about the production of other Mets greats on their returned to Shea:

BUDDY HARRELSON: Playing second base instead of his usual shortstop, singles and scores in Phillies' 4-3 victory over Mets on May 19, 1978.

TOM SEAVER: Nine weeks after Mets trade him to Reds, Seaver pitches a complete game, striking out 11, also doubles and scores two runs in 5-1 victory against Jerry Koosman on Aug. 21, 1977. Buddy Harrelson says his eyes teared the first time he faced his friend.

JERRY KOOSMAN: Five and a half years after being traded for Jesse Orosco, returns to Shea on April, 28, 1984, and takes loss for Phillies.

DARRYL STRAWBERRY: On May 7, 1991, hits two-run HR in Dodgers' 6-5 loss to Mets. The home run is merely his second in 87 at-bats.

TUG McGRAW: Pitches seven shutout innings, six of them perfect, in Phillies' doubleheader sweep on June 29, 1975. He saves 9-6 victory in first game and is winning pitcher in second game.
