A little bit of the minors

On this slow Mets day I'll take this opportunity to write about Fernando Martinez's return from his thumb injury.

Fernando Martinez went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBI for low Single-A Hagerstown on Wednesday.

Martinez ended up missing a couple of months with a thumb injury, but he's been just as productive at the plate since returning last month. The 17-year-old is hitting .335/.391/.495 in 188 at-bats.
