Willie and Billy

Steve Popper at North Jersey.com writes about the mound conversation between Willie Randolph and Billy Wagner:

Randolph has done wonders by trotting to the mound to prod some of his younger pitchers this season, but it was odd to see him running to the mound to speak to Billy Wagner in the ninth inning Sunday afternoon.

"That's between me and Billy," Randolph said of the conversation. "Just trying to get him back in focus, that's all."

Wagner wasn't giving up the conversation, either, joking that Randolph told him he was ruining the game. Either way, he got the last out thanks to a defensive gem by Carlos Delgado, who slid to grab a Brian Harper foul pop near the Mets' dugout.
