Momentum...

Many people have discussed the Mets' momentum heading into the play-offs - some say it doesn't matter historically, some have paniced and predicted the "end of the world"...so to speak...while we are aware of the historical info, there is one thing we have learned in all of our years of watching sports- positive momentum can take you to the promised land, and lack of momentum can send you home after the first series. Wildcard teams have worked harder than anyone to get to the play-offs, and unless the Phils get in, we'll be facing the wildcard team. The worst thing for this team would be to lose in the first series - it would bruise chemistry and give Yankees' fans ammunition that they don't need. It would also dampen what has become one of the most rewarding seasons, ever, in our history. We know how important it is to rest players, but with the way we've played of late, our entire team might get more rest and quicker than they bargained for. Not to mention, if we had paid to see some of the past few games during the final homestand, we'd be pretty pissed off in watching a barely-AAA team take the field every day. We have a couple of games to regain our edge, and let's hope it starts tonight in Atlanta, with Pedro taking the mound.
