Did Trachsel give up?

At Rotoworld, they quote the New York Times on Steve Trachsel and why he left his game three start so soon:

Some members of the Mets' organization were upset at Steve Trachsel, questioning the validity of his injury and for what they believe amounted to him quitting on the team in Game 3.

According to the New York Times, a couple of midlevel, nonuniformed members of the organization were critical of Trachsel, who retired just 10 of 12 batters before coming out in the second injury with what was called a thigh injury. "He took himself out," one person said. Another scoffed, "Contusion of the thigh?" when hearing the reason for Trachsel coming out of the game.

Yes. He hasn't really pitched well this year. He won 15 games because he had fabulous run support. Trachsel is a 500 pitcher-at best. There seems to be something going on his personal life that isn't helping him. I think we've seen the last of him.

True, he is a fre agent at the end of the season and he doesn't seem to be Willie's favorite by far. I'm sure Omar would like to get rid of one of the last non working parts of the Phillips era anyway.
