Mets get two pitchers from Marlins

Marty Noble at Mets.com, writes about the Mets and the trade they made with the Marlins to bring in some more pitching:

they traded right-handed pitchers Henry Owens and Matt Lindstrom. And instead of Dontrelle Willis, they acquired Jason Vargas and Adam Bostick, both 23 years old, both left-handed, neither the caliber of starting pitcher they need.

"We think Vargas and Bostick are two promising left-handed pitchers, and we're happy to have them in the organization," Mets general manager Omar Minaya said Monday just before he announced that the club had decided not to exercise its option on the contract of Tom Glavine.
