Zito to land in New York?

Mark Healey at Gotham Baseball, writes about Barry Zito and where he feels Zito will land:

The Mets, who have been equally active in their scouting efforts regarding Zito, appear to have the inside track, for several reasons. First, they have pitching coach (and Zito mentor) Rick Peterson in their employ, and secondly - and most importantly - they are one of the few teams that might be willing to use their substantial resources to meet uber-agent Scott Boras' demands.

But will Zito wind up in Gotham? No one from the Mets camp is talking, and that's par for the course from the Omar Minaya regime. However, there are some execs out there that are still unsure.
