The begining of the end for the National League?

If you would, imagine a world where the Mets have one of the most potent line-up's and on top of that, they have one of the most dominating starting rotations. To make things even worse, they also have a dominant bullpen and a great bench.

All this might come true with the signing of two players that might take place over the winter meetings.

If the Mets re-sign Tom Glavine and sign Barry Zito, after the All-Star break (add in Pedro) and heading into the post season they would boast one ace, after another, after another. That would constitute as a real intimidating factor. Martinez, then Zito, then Glavine and followed by El Duque and Maine is enough to get the other team a little down.

I already went over the lineup in a previous post, so if you want to read up on this just use the link I provided you.

All we need is for Omar to open up his wallet and give Zito the mony to pitch in Queens. As for Glavine, I think the Braves are shooting themselves in the foot on this one.

Cross your fingers...
